its finally done! (not really...minor adjustments to do...clutch lever and brake lever down and left bar straightened a bit)

but its finally done! what a saga of pain in my ass, misery, heart break, blood, sweat, tears, late night, break through s, and coffee. Lots of money and time gone too. but its finally done.

Ladies and gentlman, I give you...THE Suzuki SVX-R 650! (Isnt it oh so pretty?)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

what is different from a Stock 2007 SV650?
starting from the front:

-HIDS
-euro turnsignals + flush mounts
-Red windscreen bolts
-Zero gravity Double bubble screen
-2003 GSX-R 600 front wheel
-2007 GSX-R 1000 forks/brakes
-custom mounted key (on the body work on the right)
-Black stainless steel brake lines (front and rear)
-red LED lighting
-Motosliders frame sliders
-Techspec tank pads
-no-name tank protector pad
-2003 GSX-R 1000 rear shock
-competition werks plate relocator (with LEDs for lighting)
-Bestem under tail (with turn signals)
-moto tuner integrated tail light

Took it out for a rip today, and need to tighten mirrors, lower clutch, and get a diapharm for the front res. But its ridable...so I’m riding :D

awesome. dad’s bike is also all good to go. Valve lash is on spec, new sparkplugs, throttle bodies are all synced up (up to 4K RPM at least, just ordered a more precise tool)

I’d like to hear the story behind how you found out you needed to tighten your mirrors.

Darn, I thought it’d be like. I braked hard on the freeway while I was riding it and the final bolt on the mirror loosened, flew through the rear window of the car in front of my and went through the head of the driver which happened to be the Secretary General of France, and I’m typing this onto Oppo from jail and I’m waiting to be extradited to be tried in French courts.

But you know, yours works too.

Congrats PV! I was really excited when I finished mine too. Now don’t go and sell it right away like I did. Enjoy it.

P.S. When I checked the valve clearances on mine after 23k, they were spot on.

Yaaaaay! I am waiting on some turn signals from hong Kong. My nightawk is going to also get some front brake love. Should get parts in a week or two. Sadly this limits my trips since I have worn brakes and broken turn signals :(

How difficult was your swap?

........Okay,I will not attempt any time soon. New turn signals and headlight are enough for me, thanks.

hehe.

the swap its self wasnt actually THAT hard. as long as you have something that more or less drops in (SV’s can take GSX-R suspensions)

but I was doing the swap on an ABS bike. the first person to do so and KEEP the ABS. Thats what gave me such a nightmare. I’ll be doing a write up of it sooner or later.

I ADOREEEEE the Suzuki SV650. Bought a Ninja 650 myself because I happened to get a good deal. Always wished I had waited for the right SV. And you have done an excellent job choosing mods. Congrats.

I must say though, I think that red windscreen looks super tacky and 90s. I don’t expect the opinion of one commenter to affect you, at least I hope not. Keep on riding man, that bike sounds incredibly fun.

I have to admit i thought it looked kinda tacky before as well (before it had a balck front wheel...see picture) But with red/black levers, red wheel, red windscreen bolts and red wheel, it brings it together nicely. (oh, and red neon lighting at night)
